Brunch This Friday, Seghesio Gets Props

This Friday, we will be serving the brunch instead of lunch menu starting at 9 AM. Dinner will be as usual.

For those of you who follow the Wine Spectator, Seghesio Zinfandel, which we have in the bottle, was voted 12th best wine of the year, worldwide. We agree that it is pretty dang good, and does not suck at all with pork confit.

Sticky Wonton Antics

Hi, folks, we’ve got some good stuff for you this week. In savory land we have Pork Belly Wontons with Sea Bean Slaw, while on the sweet side we have Sticky Date Pudding with Rye Ice Cream and Boozy Raisins. Also,Lila would like you to know that next week we will have a delightful new Zinfandel on tap called “Antic”, which is balanced and food friendly.

Monday Night Movies, Monthly Pig Roasts

Starting May 10th, we are going to show movies every Monday night. Our upstairs neighbor Austin Hill will be curating the first few. The emphasis will be on local filmmakers and documentaries, but we’ll probably sneak “Porky’s” and “Animal House” in there once in a while. There will also be drink specials and a bar menu. I’ll keep you posted on each weeks’ movies.
Thanks to everybody who turned out to the last two pig roasts. We’ve decided to keep it special by doing it only once a month, on the 3rd Sunday. That means that the next one will be on May 16th. We hope to see you all there.

The tables are here and they look and feel great. They really make you want to eat a big steak off of them. The bad news is that rain is forecast for Sunday, so we probably won’t do a pig roast that evening. We will be open, though.

Carbonara

Hi, everybody. We’ve got the first of the season’s English peas in, and they’re really sweet and juicy. This week we’ll be serving a good old Carbonara, with bacon, egg, lots of black pepper, and the peas. This picture is of our first batch of sausages hanging in our walk-in.

New Tables, Spring Menu

Hi, folks. Here are some photos of our new tables, which should be coming any day now. The guy in the foreground is Jeffrey Ruiz, woodworker extraordinaire, who also did our back wall and picnic tables. He works exclusively in reclaimed materials and says that they definitely won’t wobble!

Good news with the menu, too. It’s springtime and we’re going to be phasing in radicchio, artichokes, asparagus, spring onions, and favas. Look for radicchio and maybe asparagus this week, and a housemade pasta with spring onions, favas, and housemade ricotta next week.

Sunday Dinner

Hi, everybody, sorry for the lack of updates, its been kinda busy over here. We’re doing Sunday dinner again this weekend. We’ll be serving meatloaf, mashed potatoes, salad, and dessert for only $20 between 6 and 8:30, plus beer and wine specials. Hope to see you all there.
